Cottage for rent on Charleston lake

Three bedroom cottage at the end of a peninsula on a secluded bay of Charleston Lake. Screened in porch. Large living room with access to covered deck, overlooking the lake. Spacious bedrooms. 8 person limit for reservations: master with king bed, 1 guest room with queen bed, another guest room with 2 sets of bunk beds, plus sofa bed in living room. Large eat in kitchen, dining nook with perfect view of the lake. Fully equipped kitchen, including coffee maker, toaster oven, fridge, stove, dishwasher and water dispenser. Two BBQs. Sunset views.

Our cottage is on a shallow bay (5 or 6ft max), but is situated right at the end of the peninsula - within very quick and easy reach of the larger, much deeper part of the lake on the other side of the peninsula. There is a small shallow sandy area at the cottage, which is perfect for small kids - they can walk into the water and the beach is also great for launching kayaks.

There is a paddle boat and 2 adult kayaks, plus 1 child kayak available for use and a dock if you wish to bring your own boat. Boat launch available at the Outlet, about 5 minutes from the cottage.

Rentals begin on Saturdays at 2:00 pm and end the following Saturday at 11:00 am.

- The cottage is not available for weekend only rentals.

- Sorry, but we are unable to allow your pets at the cottage as some of our family members are allergic.

- We will not respond to any enquiries regarding requests for weekend bookings or requests to bring pets.

Here is some info on the lake and location:

Charleston Lake is located in South Eastern Ontario, just 40 minutes from Brockville and 30 minutes from Gananoque. The lake is the principal watershed for the Gananoque River, and boasts prime fishing locations. Charleston Lake is a fairly large lake, 14 kilometres long (9 miles) and 6 kilometres wide (4 miles) at the widest part, with over 100 miles of shoreline and more than 100 islands. The water surface is 26.2 km2. It is a very deep lake, with most of the lake being at least 60ft deep and many areas deeper. At the deepest part it is 300ft.

Charleston Lake Provincial Park, with a large sandy beach, is within 5 minute drive from the cottage. In addition, boat rentals and water taxies are available from two full service marinas on the lake. The St Lawrence Seaway boat launch is a short 15 minute drive away.

Fishing Season:

Bass: 3rd Sat. in June to Nov. 30

Lake Trout: 4th Sat. in May to Sept.8

Northern Pike: 2nd Sat in May to Dec.31

PLEASE NOTE: The minimum stay during July / August is 7 nights. The cottage is not available for weekend only rentals during July / August, including long weekends.
