Welcome to Old Roots Nature Retreat. We have 36 acres of forested trails and green space for you to enjoy. We rent out 2 cottages & 1 tiny Cottage on our 1200ft of waterfront on Dog Lake. We are located in South Frontenac, Battersea ON, 25 minutes North of Kingston 2 hours south of Ottawa & 3 hours east of Toronto Our lake is a part of the Heritage Rideau System, which means you can reach many other lakes and see the Lock system in action. We have excellent fishing with boat rental if needed. Off the end of the dock it is 7-9 ft to swim. The lake is best for swimming from May to the end of July. For the month of August the lake warms up and creates thicker weeds. There is a Public sand beach only a 3 min drive away. We have canoes ,paddleboat, paddleboard and a Kayak for you to use. This is Cottage #1: Our cottages are fully kitchen equipped with dishes and cooking pans you may need with all appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, coffee maker & toaster. There is a propane BBq to use, bonfire pit with sitting area & complimentary firewood. There is also patio furniture and an outside dinning area. The water is fresh crisp water from the well. The bathroom has a full bathtub and shower, flushing toilet and sink. The bedrooms include: Bedroom #1 - queen bed with side tables and a large dresser to place your items. Bedroom #2 - A bunk bed with a double on the bottom and single on the top, a closet and 2 chests to store your items. Bedroom #3 - A queen bed with a side table The living room and has movies and games for your entertainment on those rainy days. Each cottage is privately located and a 2min walk from the waterfront. There is a huge dock for guests to enjoy and all water toys and lifejackets are located in a shed beside the water. *You bring your own bedding , unless you want to add that on for an extra cost per bed your going to use. We rent for a full week at $2100.00 that includes a cleaning fee. Contact me if you are looking for a shorter rental period.
