References required for all renters. LOCATION: Bennett Lake, 1 hour from Ottawa, 20 minutes from Perth, near Balderson. Car access. ENVIRONMENT: 300m drive from road via a right-of-way through field; lake, meadow, forest, one hectare lot, no close neighbours, easy park next to cottage, quiet, tranquil, private. Natural hillside down to lake (not good for small children or if you’re not sure-footed). Natural rocky shoreline/not a sandy beach, no dock; shallow shore and flat rocks serve as a natural place for swim and boat launch and return. Clean, 10 km long lake. COTTAGE: 49 m2 one-room, double bed, minimalistic beautiful decor, with sitting and dining areas. Propane fridge, running cold (2019) water from deep well to both buildings. SAUNA BUILDING: connected by deck to main cottage, three rooms, 1. large, wood-burning sauna (2018) for bathing, 2. camp-toilet room, 3. sitting room with 2 camp-beds or chairs. Cellular roaming works sporadically, and always works down the road. StarLink internet available summer 2024 for long term rentals. Outhouse (cedar lined, renovated 2020) at back of clearing.
