Take a break in our off-grid, wireless-free guest house. Sleep. Rest. Rejuvenate. Rise with the sunrise. Reconnect with nature. Landline phone is provided, as you will not be permitted to use cell phones on the property. Kitchen and full bathroom with cold running water. We hope you enjoy your stay! Wireless-free retreat Allow yourself to truly unplug in our wireless-free retreat. We do not allow use of wireless devices on the property (such as cell phones, bluetooth devices, car remotes, etc.). If you're not sure how to turn something off, please ask us how, and together we'll figure it out. Please honour this rule. If it does not suit you, please don't book this place. The guest house is located in a beautiful and secluded spot on our property a short walk from the parking area (200 feet or 70 meters). During your stay you're welcome to walk around the property. We have park-like space, ponds, as well as young forested areas. The guest house The guest house at Nature's Haven Retreat is an open-concept living space with a full bathroom. Taps provide good drinking water. There is no hot water unless you heat it up on the stove. Heating is provided either by off-grid propane direct-vent heat or woodstove. Wood and propane are included. The kitchen has lots of counterspace, a double sink, and large windows. The woodstove is designed for cooking and heating. We'll show you how to make a fire to suit your needs. The kitchen is supplied with pots, fry pan, dishes, utensils, and unscented dish soap. We can provide you with a cooler and ice containers if you wish. Amenities - corded landline with Canada-wide calling - comfortable queen size bed - linens and towels - double sink in kitchen with cold running water - dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kettle - cooler and ice blocks available - dishcloth, tea towels, and unscented dish soap - full bathroom with cold running water - woodstove and direct-vent propane heat (wood and propane provided) - smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, and fire extinguisher - barbecue outside - park-like outdoor space Location It's an easy 20 minute drive to the city of North Bay, Ontario, Canada which has all the typical shopping options. We're well off a well-maintained, paved road with nature surrounding the location. We are 4 hours north of Toronto or 4 hours west of Ottawa. Nearby amenities - convenience store - library with wi-fi - swimming - hiking - canoeing / kayaking - fishing / hunting - lots of crown land nearby Rules We're here to answer your questions, provide assistance, and in general, to make your stay enjoyable. The guest house is in a secluded location with plenty of privacy. However, we do also live on the property. We expect our guests to have respect for all living beings (including us), in part by obeying the following rules: This property is a wireless-free environment. Please keep all wireless signals off throughout the duration of your stay. This includes cell phones, bluetooth-enabled devices, car remotes, etc. If you're not sure if a device is emitting, ask us to check, and together we'll figure out a way to turn it off. This space is designed to accommodate those with multiple sensitivities. Avoid bringing scented products and typical allergens into the guest house. No mould or musty materials in the guest house. No smoking, vaping, alcohol, drugs, or anything like them on the property. Fire may be used in designated areas only. Sorry, no pets.
