Community Dining is a fun afternoon volunteer opportunity for once or twice a month where you can enjoy a delicious meal, assist in a recreational activity and expand your social network. This is a fun and flexible volunteer opportunity that fills quickly.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to pick up two or three clients at their homes and transport them to our Community Dining sites. Once client(s) are transported, drivers have the option to stay onsite and help with set-up/take down and serve. Volunteers get a complementary lunch and would then assist in a recreational activity that is arranged by program coordinator. If you rather not participate in the meal and recreational activities and just wish to drive clients, this is acceptable as well. Volunteer time commitment is of 2-3 hours, once or twice a month.
We are looking for assistance at the following site: ~ Queenston (567 Queenston Road) on the second and fourth Thursday of every month ~ Duke (601 Duke Street) on the second and fourth Thursday of every month
Many of our seniors live alone and are socially isolated. Getting them out and participating in group activities is so important for their overall well-being.
Volunteer drivers must have a valid license, auto insurance of at least $1 million and satisfactory driving record and police (criminal record) check.
