Did you know that just 15 minute of exercise a day helps to protect against declines in cognitive functions, memory loss and dementia?
FAB FIT is a gentle exercise program designed to help seniors and adults with disabilities enhance and maintain functional ability and mobility, while decreasing the risk of falls and other preventable injuries.
Volunteer instructors visit 1 or 2 housebound clients, for approximately 1 hour per week and provide guidance and support with performing 15 gentle exercises, over a 12 week period. Prior to being matched with a client, all volunteers receive 6 hours of training and orientation. First AID & CPR is also required and we provide in-house training, if needed.
If you are keen on health and fitness and enjoy meeting different people, this is the ideal position for you. As a gentle exercise instructor, you will be helping seniors remain active and improve their health. We provide mileage reimbursement. To volunteer, you can apply directly from our webpage at www.communitysupportconnections.org, under volunteer tab.
