Volunteer drivers deliver hot and/or frozen meals to seniors and adults with disabilities who for various reasons are unable to prepare their own meals. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday over the lunch hour (it takes approximately 90 minutes to complete a meal route which consists of 7-12 homes). Many of our clients live alone and perhaps as important as getting a hot meal is the need to see a smiling face and to receive some words of kindness and friendship. Meals are picked up from our office at 887 Lang’s Dr. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Volunteer drivers must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, minimum $1 million liability insurance, and a good driving record. Orientation to agency, program, in car training on client monitoring and emergency procedures is provided. Ongoing support is also always available. If you would like to help, you can apply directly from our website at www.communitysupportconnections.org under the “Volunteer” tab.
