Cosmetic Workshop Volunteer for Women with Cancer, Etobicoke
Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is a registered national charity that delivers complimentary workshops to help women with cancer feel like themselves again. Workshops are led by a volunteer team of beauty experts who teach valuable tools, techniques and cosmetic hygiene to help alleviate appearance-related side effects caused by cancer and its treatment.
REQUIREMENTS: > Time commitment: 6 (2 hr) workshops a year, taking place the 4th Wednesday of every other month from 10am-12pm > Cosmetic background required either through industry experience or formal training.
ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES: >Work apart of a team of Cosmetic Advisers, under the leadership of the Team Leader to support a group of 4-8 female participants through a step-by-step skin care and cosmetic application workshop. >Support participants directly reinforcing content delivered by Team Leader. Assist participants in identifying appropriate product for each step and apply directly to participant or guide her in proper usage and techniques. >Other tasks include setting up workshop room, assisting participant in opening and packing up kits, using online portal to sign up for volunteer shifts and submit workshop summary forms if required by Team Leader. >Act as an ambassador for Look Good Feel Better and comply with standards of confidentiality, cosmetic hygiene and participant care.
