Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain f/10 Vintage Telescope, D=102mm, F=1000

Used old Meade SCT Telescope. This is one of the few models made in Japan and is the spotting scope version. The adapter on the back can be swapped out for a SLR camera adapter or other standard eyepiece adapters. It comes with an Opus telescoping tripod and H23mm spotting scope eyepiece. The optics are very sharp, and worth the price alone. However, things need to be tightened up on the mount and it can use a bit of TLC.

This is a good item for someone wanting to have a less expensive spotting scope or would like a less expensive telephoto lens for photography.

The Good: Optics are good, everything on the scope works (focus, adjustments).

The Bad: The tri-pod mount has a broken adjustment handle. You can still turn the adjustment, however, the plastic wing on the handle is broken off (reflected in the price) no pun intended.

The optic tube alone sells on eBay for $300.00 Canadian and the one I found for sale was in rough shape. If you're interested contact me and come have a look.
